Mengapa perusahaan (bonafid) membayar gaji karyawan lebih tinggi?
The employer has interest to pay her employees a wage higher than the minimum necessary in the (relevant) market. This might be can be attributed to efficiency wage arguments:
First, in the positive interpretation, higher wage will lead to positive exchange or reciprocity relationship. When the employer pays higher wage, she expects commitment of her employers in return. The commitment of higher productivity and fulfillment of tasks assigned.
Second, in the negative interpretation, higher wage paid by the employers can be considered as a mechanism of ‘blackmailing’ workers. By increasing wage, firms increase price of job, and the cost of loosing job is high. It motivates workers not to leave the job, and do whatever required by the firms to defend his/her position with higher wage.
The third is argument of profit share (and demand). Higher wage does not necessarily lead to decrease firm’s profitability. Profit share can be defined as share of profit in total income.
X/K or output (X) per capital is indication of capacity of capital stock utilization that depends on demand, how many products/services produced by firm (X) is depend on demand, and the demand depend on wage. The higher the wage means higher income, which also means the consumers power to purchase increase (thus lowering income restriction). In turns, will lead to increase in the demand of products/services.
